Smoketree

Are these flowers or leaves? Nature is so creative... I do not know for sure what this is. Anything familiar to anyone?

Well, my dear just provided information about this. This is Smoke Tree/Eurasian Smoketree (Scientific Name: Cotinus coggygria)

Insect in flower

I dunno what that insect was doing there... Probably having it's food... But it was definitely not ready to leave that flower... I tried to blow him away from that flower, but he wouldn't move :D

BTW, that's a tiny grasshopper on a California Golden Poppy :) (Thanks dear).

Texas Bluebonnet

Info from my GF: These are Texas Bluebonnet (Scientific Name: Lupinus texensis).

This flower is a hardy winter annual native to Texas and is adopted as the "State Flower of Texas" :)... I didn't know this... thanks dear.

Foresthill Bridge

I am not sure if I have posted any pics of this earlier. Anyhow, it was not the same for sure, as I got this view if the Foresthill Bridge for the first time.

Some thorny wildflower

I captured this one on the levy during a morning walk... It was very thorny... Anyone knows what it is? Looks weird!

Same variety, but two different colors :)

These all upside-down flowers were there at the Mystery Spot's small open-to-air waiting lounge :D... really good ones... :) There are a few more to come... These are Fuchsias (Scientific Name: Fuchsia regia). The usual ones are red and purple, but the hybrid ones have more variety of colors. Good-looking, low maintenance and do attract hummingbirds. :). As usual, the information comes from my GF :) Thanks dear.

Symmetry

Nature can make wonders! Just look at this one... symmetric... 3 petals and 3 leaves... nicely arranged. I found this one in the RedWood forests.

While travelling from Oakland to San Diego, I saw these clouds. I don't know which city this is below, but the clouds look good. :D

Have you ever seen Flamingoes' nests? I saw them for the first time and was surprised to know that they are built on the ground like a heap of soil!!!

Coral Tree

After a long time, I have again started posting on my blog. I'd been to a lot of places in this time when my parents were here in town. I had a lot of fun. There would be quite a few good snaps. :)) These are neither leaves nor petals... these are pods or fruits of this plant... This plant is called Shepherd's purse (Scientific Name: Capsella bursa-pastoris)... thanks to my genius :)

This one is so small that it could fit completely on the tip of your thumb. This one and the earlier post are the same flowers and these weeds are commly known as Redstem Filaree (Scientific Name: Erodium cicutarium) Thanks for the info dear :)
